Students and Staff from the Elmwood and Penrose Federation of special schools in Bridgwater raised over £300 for Children in Need by organising and participating in a range of events on Friday 13th November 2015.

Over 30 students took to a range of bikes to cycle 1 mile on the blustery sea front at Weston-Super-Mare and were joined by staff members, Ryan and Fleur, who had cycled from Penrose School in Bridgwater to meet up with them before heading back to Bridgwater. The students from the Jean Rees Centre also created some impressive collection buckets to collect donations for their activities.

The federation was grateful for the support of Crosville Motor Services (WSM) and Bridgwater Car & Van Hire who donated vehicles and drivers to support the various logistical challenges of transporting students from all three federation sites to Weston-Super-Mare with their range of bikes to meet their needs. Among these students was Tayen Gilbert (pictured below) who also featured on the BBC Children in Need Programme on the Friday evening.
